What is the Jamaica+ Incentive Program?
Perks are the heart of being a Chalk CoutureTM Designer, and this program is truly packed! Our new Jamaica+ Incentive Program rewards Designers with points for sharing, selling, and leading—and there’s something for everyone! Designers can redeem program points for fun and fanciful gifts from retail brands HOBO and Catbird, and an all-inclusive stay in the rolling mountains, wild rivers, enchanting waterfalls, and magnificent palm-fringed beaches of Jamaica.
Quick Summary
Trip earning period: November 1, 2022 – December 31, 2023
Any Designer who earns at least 10,000 points (AND have a minimum of 2,000PSV) qualify to redeem their choice of:
- A Large Satchel from The Sheila Collective at HOBO, or
- A Tide Aquamarine Choker and Bracelet set by Catbird x Cassi Namoda, or
- A set of men’s leather goods from HOBO (travel case, bi-fold wallet, and card case)
The top 50 Designers who earn at least 30,000 points (AND have a minimum of 8,000PSV) will qualify for the all-inclusive stay in Jamaica.
- 30,000 points = All-inclusive experience for 2 with $500 in airfare credit towards 1 airline ticket (conditions apply)
- 39,000 points = All-inclusive experience for 2 with $1,000 in airfare credit towards 2 airline tickets (conditions apply)
Multiple perks can be earned, but points must be redeemed and PSV thresholds met, for each reward. For example, Designers with 45,000 points and at least 10,000 PSV can redeem both the all-inclusive experience for 2 plus 1 airfare credit AND a HOBO bag.
All points are redeemable after the promotion earning period has ended on December 31, 2023.
How to Earn Perks
Perks are redeemed with points accumulated through Personal Volume (PV), Sponsoring, title achievements and maintenance, plus meeting a minimum threshold of Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV).
- 1PV = 1 point
- You may track your points using the Incentive Program Tracker in your Designer Office.
- Sponsoring one first-time Designer = 300 points
- These points are pending through the earning period. The new Designer cannot be a re-enrollment, must join between November 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, and must remit a minimum of 300PV during the earning period. The new Designer must also be active through December 31, 2023, with their account in good standing.
- Title Promotion and Paid-As Title
- Points are awarded for first-time title promotion as noted in the table below. Additionally, points are also awarded each month a Designer achieves a “paid-as” title as noted.
- Even if your title goes up or down, you will earn points according to your current “paid-as” title.
- Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV)
- Personally Sponsored Volume is the Personal Volume (PV) of the first-level Team members a Designer sponsors during the qualifying period of the program. You can track your PSV earnings in the “Sponsoring” tab of your Incentive Program Tracker by person and/or on the dashboard of your Incentive Program Tracker, where the total PSV is shown.
- To earn the all-inclusive, Qualifying Designers must achieve a minimum of 8,000PSV, with a maximum of 2,000PSV from any single Designer you sponsor during the qualification period. For Catbird and HOBO rewards, qualifying Designers must achieve 2,000PSV with a maximum of 2,000PSV from any single Designer sponsored per reward.
Although there are no points generated by PSV, it is a requirement to earn the all-inclusive stay or other rewards. This requirement emphasizes the importance of sponsoring and supporting your Level 1 Designers as they learn to sell. PSV remains, even if the L1 Designer terminates during the program (in that event, the 300 points for sponsoring will be deducted, but any PSV generated from the L1 Designer will remain). Additionally, although a re-enrolled Designer may not generate sponsoring points, that re-enrolled Designer will generate PSV for the sponsoring Designer.
When and where is the all-inclusive reward?
Qualifying Designers will join members of the Chalk Central Leadership team in the beautiful island of Jamaica! Details on dates and the official resort destination will be finalized soon.
What is included in the all-inclusive experience?
Earners will enjoy multiple nights in the resort at double occupancy (including taxes and fees), and 1 to 2 airline tickets, depending on total points earned (see aforementioned guidelines).
Earners will also be treated to a welcome reception, a kick-off business meeting/networking event, and nightly pillow gifts. There will also be extras and add-on excursions and merchandise (at additional cost), organized by Chalk Couture.
What is NOT included with the stay in Jamaica?
Though the resort experience is called “all-inclusive,” earners should prepare and budget for expenses including passports and documentation, travel insurance, additional excursions and activities on site, items of a personal nature (such as souvenirs), tips for services rendered, and any meals, snacks, and beverages enjoyed off property. Any emergency or medical expenses arising during the event are at the earner’s expense, and neither Chalk Couture nor our travel partner provides coverage for any cost not explicitly named within this FAQ or other official Chalk Couture communications. If you elect to purchase the travel insurance from our travel agent partner, please read all details carefully prior to purchase to understand what coverages are included and excluded.
What is the value of airfare credit earned?
Airfare credit for 1 is $500. Airfare credit for 2 tickets is $1,000.. In the event that an airline ticket for an earner exceeds the credit earned, the difference is the responsibility of the Designer. If airfare is less than the $500 USD cap per ticket, the difference has no cash value to the earner. Excess credit from one ticket may not be applied to another ticket.
How do I redeem airfare for Jamaica?
The redemption of earned airfare credit is at the discretion of Chalk Couture and its travel partners. Earned credits must be applied to flights booked by Chalk Couture’s travel partner, who will seek out the lowest cost and most time-appropriate schedules and providers to suit the needs of the individual travelers, the overall group, and program timing. Designers are welcome to suggest carrier preferences and provide frequent flyer information to the travel agent who will endeavor to accommodate preferences, although these cannot be guaranteed.
Those who earn airfare credit but choose to travel to the destination on their own may do so at their own expense. Chalk Couture does not provide reimbursement, stipends, cash, or credit to offset Designer travel, including mileage, frequent flyer credits/exchanges, or parking fees.
Airline tickets may not be upgraded for premium seating; earned airfare has no cash value. Earned airfare credit has a cap of $500 USD per earned ticket; any excess is the responsibility of the earner to pay in a timely manner to the agency prior to travel. Credits not redeemed for airline travel have no cash value.
If I earn the all-inclusive, can I bring my family? Additional guests?
Yes, if resort space and requirements permit, but there is no guarantee of additional occupancy, and additional Designer costs will apply. After the conclusion of the program earning period, earners will be asked to RSVP and provide information about their intent to bring additional guests. Pending availability, the resort will work to accommodate additional traveler requests. Note that additional guest costs for hotel accommodations and all-inclusive amenities are expected, and will be borne by the earner and are not guaranteed to be available. Earners are welcome to book travel and off-property excursions independently for additional guests.
Earners’ program rewards include a double-occupancy only and we cannot guarantee room location within the property. Therefore, to add other guests may require that an earner secure a room outside of our contracted room block, which may incur fees above rates shown on vacation websites. Any additions to occupancy will be at the earners’ cost, which may be above market rate (or rates shown on discount websites). If you would like to bring additional guests, please talk to the hotel to make arrangements.
How many Designers will earn rewards?
The opportunity to earn retail perks from HOBO and Catbird are unlimited. Up to 50 qualifiers will earn the Jamaica all-inclusive experience. The incentive program is open to all Chalk Couture Designers.
Who is eligible to participate in the program?
All active Designers are eligible to participate. You must be an active Designer to qualify and an active Designer at the time all perks are redeemed. To be considered active, the Designer’s account must be in good standing (not paused or suspended for any reason), and there must not be any disciplinary action in progress. Earners who have exited their Designerships after earning rewards will not be eligible to participate. Perks have no cash value.
Guests of earners may not be current Designers or Designers who have exited the company within 12 months of the travel dates.
How is Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV) measured?
For example, qualifying all-inclusive earners must have a minimum of 8,000PSV, with a maximum of 2,000PSV from any single Designer. You will need at least FOUR personally sponsored new Designers during the earning period, and likely more—the more you sponsor, the easier it is to achieve 8,000PSV. The earlier you sponsor during the program, the more time your Level 1 Team members will have to contribute to your PSV requirement.
Think of PSV as a bucket, which all your new L1 Team members contribute to (L1 Team members who join your team during the qualification period). Perhaps you enroll 8 Designers, who are strong sellers who contribute 1,000PV each during the entire program—that meets the required 8,000PSV threshold easily. Or, you enroll 16 Designers who are more casual participants of Chalk Couture and individually achieve 500PV during the program. This meets 8,000 TOTAL PSV, so the requirement is met. The more Designers you enroll during the program, the easier it is to achieve the 8,000PSV requirement. The maximum PSV that a single L1 Designer may contribute to your 8,000PSV threshold is 2,000.
Note that while a new enrollee must remit 300PV before you receive 300 sponsoring points, EVERY 1PV they remit counts toward your 8,000PSV minimum—even before that Designer achieves 300PV, and even if that Designer is at “former” status at the end of the earning period. In other words, PSV is never “pending” like sponsoring points are. Once earned, they count toward your threshold. And yes! This means that when you have a new L1 Designer join the company and remit 300PV, YOU’LL EARN 300 points for sponsoring AND you’ll receive 300PSV credit toward your 8,000PSV minimum—it’s a double benefit! If the L1 Designer terminates during the program, the 300 points for sponsoring will be deducted, but any PSV generated will remain.
PSV is a required minimum threshold for earning, but does not carry actual incentive points.
Can qualification points be transferred from one Designer to another?
No. Qualification points are non-transferrable.
If I have a Designer roll up to me, will they count as a new personally sponsored Designer?
No.
If I have a Designer roll up to me, will their PV count towards the PSV requirement?
No.
When will the final achievers be announced?
Reward earners will be announced after the commissions for December 2023 are finalized. They will be announced in January 2024, as part of Magnifique Mag.
All-Inclusive Experience Specifics:
What if I earn the stay but do not attend? Is there a cash-out option?
There is no cash-out option and the trip has no cash value. However, you can redeem your points on other incentive program prizes.
Are there fees for cancellations?
There is a $500 USD cancellation fee, exclusive of any other non-refundable expenses incurred on your behalf (which are included in your annual 1099 earnings). Chalk Couture incurs real costs on behalf of the all-inclusive earners, whether in flights, hotel, or agency fees, and often these fees cannot be recouped when a Designer does not attend. If on this or a future incentive program, we have more earners than contracted spots, you may literally displace a qualified earner by saying "yes" but then not attending. If you qualify to attend, we ask that you thoughtfully consider your RSVP and say "yes" because you are committed to attending. We want you—and every earner—to enjoy and love this great experience!
What if a Designer is unable to go?
If one of the top 50 Designers who earns the all-inclusive is unable to attend, the Designer with the next highest points earned (as long as that Designer meets all requirements as well) is invited to attend based on when the previously qualified Designer exits. If an earning Designer cancels, less than 60 days before the date of departure, no additional Designers may be added to the stay due to contract limitations and booking. Note that if an earner does not attend after booking travel and/or accommodations, and if these costs are not refundable, they will be included on the earner’s 2024 year-end tax statement provided by Chalk Couture. If an earner RSVPs “yes” but then cancels for any reason thereafter, they are subject to the $500 USD cancellation fee.
What is the value of this reward?
The full value of the Jamaica reward is not available/finalized until closer to the travel date. However, earners will see the full value of their reward as taxable income on their 2024 tax statements provided by Chalk Couture. The reward has no cash value/cash-out value, and earning Designers who RSVP “yes” but do not attend will still receive the value of the reward on their tax documents if tickets/reservations are purchased/made in their name, which are not cancellable.
Do I need a passport?
Yes! Jamaica, is an international travel location for residents of the United States and Canada. A valid passport will be required for airline travel and entry into the country.
Can I arrive before the designated travel date or stay longer? What if I need special travel arrangements?
Our travel partner will be happy to assist you in booking your pre- and post-getaway and/or flight deviations. Note that any additional nights at the resort or flight deviation will be incurred at the earners’ expense, including any deviations from the airfare caps or costs that arise from date deviations or additional legs.
