What is the giveaway?
Nancy Economou, founder of Watts of Love®, has offered to open her Wisconsin lake house (about one hour north of the Chicago O’Hare International Airport) for a weekend in October full of chalking fun to help us raise donations! We’ve planned a super fun weekend getaway at the lake house for 21 Designer Lightmakers. Your days will be filled with creativity, camaraderie, and an all-around laid-back good time!
When is the trip?
This weekend getaway will take place October 26–29, 2023. Attendees should plan to arrive on Thursday, October 26, after 5 pm local time, and will depart by 10 am on Sunday, October 29.
How is it awarded?
This is a giveaway drawing! Ordering 1 “2023 Weekend Getaway Ticket” (item WOL23WEEKEND) in your Designer Office will equal a $100 USD/$128 CAD donation to Watts of Love AND 1 entry into the giveaway.
You may make as many donations as you wish for multiple chances to have your name chosen for one of the 21 spots available. Though any Designer can make a Watts of Love donation, only those designated as Lightmakers as of May 31, 2023, qualify to attend the getaway.
When can I purchase my entry tickets?
The special donation SKU (item WOL23WEEKEND) is available for purchase in your Designer Office. Designers, who are Lightmakers, can purchase as many entry donation SKUs as they would like through Monday, June 19, 2023.
Do my previous Watts of Love donations this year (whether through my Chalk Site or Designer Office) count towards giveaway entries?
No. Previous donations will help you qualify as a Lightmaker, but do not count towards entries in the drawing. Only $100 USD/$128 CAD donations made via the “2023 Weekend Getaway Ticket” special SKU will count in the drawing.
When will the giveaway take place?
Lucky winners will be announced live during ChalkCon on Saturday, June 24, 2023, and shared in the Saturday recap email.
If I’m not attending ChalkCon, can I still participate in this giveaway?
Yes!
Are there any requirements for Designers to be chosen?
Designers at any title may participate in the drawing, but only those who have qualified as a Lightmaker by having a donation total of $250 USD (through your Designer Office and/or Chalk Sites) to WOL by May 31, 2023, may win the trip.
If I buy multiple entry tickets, how many can I win? And, who can I bring with me if I win multiple spots?
Each Designer can win up to 2 spots for the weekend. If you are attending, you can bring any other Designer of your choosing. They do not need to be a Lightmaker.
If I’m selected can I transfer my spot to someone else?
Yes! As long as the Designer you’d like to gift your trip to is a Lightmaker, you may transfer your spot on the trip. If you would like to gift entries to your Team members or Designer friends, you are encouraged to do so. The more donations for WOL the better!
Will the donations I make by purchasing the “2023 Weekend Getaway Ticket” SKU count towards my qualifying as a Lightmaker?
Yes! Any tickets you purchase will count towards your 2023 event year Lightmaker status.
Will travel expenses be covered for this trip?
No. Guests will be responsible for all their own travel expenses, including transportation to and from the lake house. This includes any necessary flights to and from Chicago, as well as ground transportation to the lake house.
What food accommodations will be provided during this trip?
Watts of Love will provide a light meal on Thursday evening, dinner on Friday and Saturday. Guests with special dietary needs, restrictions, or allergies should bring their own food. Each Designer needs to bring their own items for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
Where is the lake house located?
Nancy’s Wisconsin lake house is located about one hour north of Chicago. For those flying in, we recommend the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The exact location will be shared with those whose names are drawn for the stay.
What are the sleeping and bathroom arrangements and accommodations at the lake house?
The guest house is beautiful, but informal and dorm-style. Rooming requests will be accepted and accommodated where possible; guests will sleep in either twin/single beds OR in a shared queen or king-sized bed with another Designer earner. Bathrooms and public spaces will be shared. Winning Designers will be asked to sign a participation waiver that relieves Nancy and WOL from liability for injuries, accidents, etc.
By signing the waiver, participants will acknowledge that they are responsible for their health, safety, goods, and they agree to follow the guidelines of the home and Chalk Couture. The waiver will state that, in the event of any losses, damages, expenses, or injuries incurred during the event, they agree to hold harmless Nancy Economou, Watts of Love, and Chalk Couture and its employees and assignees.
What will we do during the lake house weekend?
Guests will enjoy creative projects, have opportunities to auction projects to customers online to raise money for WOL, and learn more about WOL from founder Nancy Economou. There will also be time for great networking and brainstorming with other Designers, as well as time to rejuvenate in a beautiful lakefront setting—play games, read, enjoy the outdoors, stay up late or sleep in!
