FAQ - Leadership 2024

What is Leadership?
Leadership is a live, hands-on, get-to-work event focused on fun, insight, collaboration, and strategies for success. The event is chalk full of opportunity, inspiration, information, and celebration.

This year’s theme is “Catalyst”! Take advantage of this event to empower yourself and fuel new momentum for the spring selling season. At this event, you’ll experience new products, receive exclusive insights, share your thoughts on programs and products in development, enjoy leadership networking opportunities, and set the stage for success in 2024. We are excited to see you at this special event!

Who can attend Leadership?
This year’s event will be open to all Designers, however, registration will open beginning with Mentors+, and then all remaining titles at a later date until all space is full. Watch for your special invite, as space allows.

What are the dates for the Leadership event?
Leadership 2024 will be Thursday and Friday January 18–19, 2024, with special, optional events on Saturday, January 20.

  • Thursday, January 18: Couturier Day meeting (by invitation only) and a Chalk Party at the Chalk Central home office for all attendees.
    • Couturier Day meeting will be at the Hyatt Place Lehi from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm MT. 
    • The kickoff party for all attendees will be held at the Chalk Central home office, starting at 3:30 pm MT, in Draper, UT. Attendees can pick up their registration materials, shop the exclusive Catalyst swag store, mingle and snack on a light dinner with other Designers, play with new products, create unique content for social media, and so much more!
  • Friday, January 19: General Sessions for all attendees at the Thanksgiving Point Show Barn.
    • General Sessions start at 9 am and 2 pm MT.
    • Lunch is provided.
  • Saturday, January 20: Optional day at Chalk Central starting at 10 am MT. A donation to Watts of Love® will be required in order to attend (details will be announced as the event gets closer).

Where will Leadership be held?
Events will take place at the Hyatt Place Lehi (3700 N Outlet Parkway, Lehi), Chalk Central (389 W 12800 S, Ste 510, Draper), and Thanksgiving Point Show Barn (2476 Sycamore Lane, Lehi).

We recommend staying at one of our two host hotels, the Hyatt Place Lehi or the Hilton Garden Inn Lehi. Our room blocks are now open for booking and will close December 27, 2023, subject to availability. Room rate is $124 USD (up to quad occupancy) per night. Book early to save your spot! 

An optional shuttle service ticket will be available to transport you to each event.

  • Thursday (hotel to Chalk Central and back)
  • Friday (hotel to Show Barn and back)
  • Saturday (hotel to Chalk Central and back) 

What is the cost to attend Leadership?
To attend the event in person, the registration fee is $149* USD. Canadian registrations may see a foreign transaction fee and the current exchange rate for the registration fee. Admission to Couturier activities on January 18 is at no additional cost to eligible/invited in-person attendees.

  • Saturday entry to Chalk Central, which will be donated to Watts of Love and includes art giveaway entry tickets.

*In-person attendees have the option to pay in full, or to break their registration fee into two separate payments. You may elect to pay a $74.50 USD deposit at the time you register, and have the $74.50 USD remaining balance automatically charged on December 15, 2023.

Will there be a virtual option?
Yes, for Mentors and above only. The “View Only” registration fee is $29, and it only gives access to Friday’s sessions. All other events will not be streamed. Registration materials, purchasing swag or products early are limited to in-person attendees.                                                      


When does Leadership registration open?
Registration for both in-person and virtual options will open on October 19, 2023, at 9 am MT, beginning with Mentors+. In-person registration will open for Designers of all titles on October 30, at 9 am MT, if and while space is available.

In-person registration closes on November 10, 2023, at 11:59 pm MT, or when space is no longer available, whichever comes first. Virtual registration closes on January 13, 2024, at 11:59 pm MT.

What information do I need when I register?
To ensure your online registration is smooth and quick, have this information ready when you register: 

  • The first name, last name, and email address associated with your Designer account. 
  • Your credit card to pay the $149 USD (in-person attendance) or $29 USD (virtual attendance) registration fee.
  • Any special needs, including for hearing, vision, mobility, or dietary restrictions.
  • Your group choice for our Chalk Party rotations. While most of our sessions are held all together, we will be breaking into groups for events held during Thursday night’s Chalk Party and Saturday’s optional events. You can choose to register with members of your Team or split up to meet new people and gain new perspectives!

It is not required, but we highly recommend you create an account during the registration process. If you created an account for previous event registrations, the login information will be the same. Your account allows you to log in and make changes to your registration including group selection, personal info, and more!

Which groups can I choose from?
Choose one of the six groups for your rotations:

  • Alta
  • Brighton
  • Deer Valley
  • Snowbird (ASL Interpreter)
  • Solitude
  • Sundance

All groups will participate in all sessions. There will be an ASL interpreter available in the Snowbird group.

What if the group I prefer is unavailable? 
If your preferred group is full, you can opt to complete your registration without a group selection and be placed on a waitlist for your preference. If space in your preferred group becomes available you will automatically be assigned. If space does not open up by the time registration closes, you will automatically be placed in a group with availability.

Can I change my group after I register?
Yes. Until registration officially closes, you can log in to your registration account and change your group as long as there is availability. You do not need to contact Designer Services to make group changes. 

Can I bring a guest to Leadership?
Unfortunately, no. This exclusive Leadership event is only for active Designers who have registered for the event. You are welcome to invite others (such as spouses or family members) to stay in your hotel room, but they will not be allowed to attend any part of the Leadership event.

What if I register but am unable to attend?
If you registered for in-person attendance and need to cancel, you may cancel your registration with a partial refund of your registration fee (a $50 USD processing fee is deducted) up until registration closes or sells out, whichever comes first. After requesting your cancellation, your in-person ticket will automatically be changed to a virtual ticket.

Swag purchases are nonrefundable and will be shipped after the event. Shipping costs may vary and will be charged to the Designer accordingly.

If you need to cancel an in-person registration, please contact the events team at events@chalkcouture.com. Registrations are non-transferable. Virtual registrations are non-refundable.

If I am unable to attend, can I get the gifts, registration materials, or products shipped to me that I would have received at the event?
Gifts and product giveaways are only for those attending the live event, and we ask that you please do not ask a friend to pick up these items for you.


What time is on-site check-in for the event?
Couturiers will check-in during the Couturier Day activities. Check-in for all other event attendees will begin Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm MT, at the Chalk Party. Please do not arrive prior to 3:30 pm MT, as the Chalk Central home office doors will be locked until the event begins! On-site check-in will continue from 8:30 to 9 am on Friday for late arrivals.

You will be required to present your ID in order to pick up your registration packet. 

Will any meals be provided?
Yes. A light dinner will be provided on Thursday and all attendees will receive lunch on Friday.

What should I wear?
Please dress in business casual attire. We recommend that you bring a sweater with you in case our event room is cold. In order to participate in all activities at Chalk Central on Thursday and Saturday, closed toe shoes will be required. 

What should I bring with me?
Bring your fun, positive attitude, and plenty of space in your suitcase for all the Chalk Couture goodies you’ll be taking home! Please note that notebooks and pens will not be included with registration materials, however they will be available for purchase in the event store, so please plan ahead so you’re ready to take notes on all the good things we have to share!

Where can I reserve my hotel room?
Hotel rooms are booked separately from Leadership registration. To reserve your room at one of our host hotels,  Hyatt Place Lehi or the Hilton Garden Inn Lehi, please use the links provided. Our room blocks are open for booking now through December 27. The room block is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Book now!

Can I stay somewhere else?
Yes. We strongly encourage attendees to stay at our host hotels. It’s one of the ways we’re able to offer you affordable room costs, and it also ensures access to the shuttle services to Chalk Central and Thanksgiving Point Show Barn. The room blocks available at the Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn are for convenience and affordability.

How can I find other Designers with whom to share a room?
The Emerging Leaders Facebook group is a fantastic community! For potential roommates, try reaching out to your besties from this Facebook group or your own Team members. This is the perfect opportunity to bond with longtime friends or meet new leaders.

What airport should I use to fly in?
The closest major airport to the event is the Salt Lake International Airport (SLC) located approximately 25 miles from the hotel by vehicle. Taxis, Uber, and Lyft can be taken from just outside of the baggage claim area.


Will there be a Couturier Day?
Yes! If you have been paid as a Couturier or above for at least one month between June and December 2023, you will receive an invitation to all Couturier events.

On January 18, 2024, we will have a meeting just for Couturiers at the host hotel Hyatt Place Lehi. Lunch will be provided at a nearby, local venue (transportation will be provided). The day will run from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm MT. Doors will open at 9:15 am.

Will there be a Couturier Night?
We’re opting not to have a Couturier Night this year and instead leaving your evenings open to plan your own team-building time. Enjoy our amazing Utah location, or chill at the hotel!

If I earn the title of Couturier in January 2024, can I attend the Couturier events?
Sorry, but no. We confirm all title advancements through our normal commission calculation process. This means that commissions for January 2024 will not be calculated until January ends and the audit is finalized (by February 15, 2024), which is well after the Leadership event.
