What is the Designer subscription?
Like a traditional business, your Chalk CoutureDesignership benefits from a “back office”: a place for you to place orders, view Team and personal reports, and manage inventory. You also benefit from a customer-facing website for sales and enrollments (your Chalk Site), a point-of-sale app, and access to timely business support and resources. Unlike a traditional business, you don’t have to contract for all of this on your own, which could be expensive and time-consuming. Instead, the entire suite is offered to you for a low monthly fee.

The Designer subscription includes a suite of business tools, monthly Club Couture™ Transfer sample, the fee is billed to your on-file credit card each month, and provides support to make it easier to run business operations.

How much does the Designer subscription cost?
The Designer subscription costs $19.99 a month plus tax (both USD and CAD), where applicable. The Designer subscription is FREE for the first month after a new Designer enrolls!

Will there be tax charged on the Designer subscription?
Not every state/province requires the collection of tax on a subscription service, and those that do vary state by state. The amount of sales tax you are charged will be added to your $19.99 monthly bill, depending on your state or province.

When will I be billed for my Designer subscription?
Your credit card on file will be billed monthly following your first free month, with billing typically processing on the day of month following your signup. For example, if you enrolled on March 15, your first month would conclude on April 15, and your recurring billing would occur then and on the 15th of each month thereafter.

What is included with the Designer subscription?
So much! You’ll receive the following:

  • Access to your Designer Office. This online office allows you to purchase products at 40% off (Designer Price). If you have a Team, the Designer Office allows you to view Team activity, growth, and your personal volume, as well as access the Resources Library.
  • A personalized e-commerce website called your “Chalk Site.” This site has a unique address you choose when you enroll. Your site is included in our Designer Locator so customers can search for you from the Chalk Couture corporate page. Your site is where you can enroll new Team members, new Club Couture subscribers, and direct customers to view our catalogs, promotions, or to shop online.
  • A point of sale app called “Chalk Shop by Square.” This is where you can sell your on-hand inventory, sell finished goods, and even have guests pay for workshops. This is a great tool available to help you run sales transactions on the go. While the app is included in your subscription, you will need to enroll and pay the monthly merchant transaction fees if you choose to process credit/debit cards in the app. When you download the app, you will be prompted to set up a merchant account and may agree to terms/fees for that service.
  • Designer support and training. We’ve got your back! Phone, chat, and email access to Chalk Central—our top team, ready to answer your questions about product, shipped orders, compliance needs, and much more. You can contact us by phone Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm MT, at 844.673.6316, or at support@chalkcouture.com. You’ll also benefit from regular communications and training in our weekly newsletter, our monthly ChalkTalk training show, and online videos.
  • Access to the Add-In program which is typically used to help Designers get early access to their Club Couture Transfer sample, occasional sneak peaks of products, or select promotions which can only be offered with the Add-In program.
  • Club Couture Transfer sample. Every month, you’ll receive a B-sized Club Couture Transfer at no additional cost (retail value $14.99 USD/$19.99 CAD) with free shipping included, only available to Designer subscription holders.

Can I cancel any portion of my subscription to reduce the $19.99 fee?
No, the program is entirely inclusive.

Am I required to pay for the Designer subscription to remain active?
Yes (optional in Canada, Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota), and it is your responsibility to ensure the credit card information on file in your account is correct and not expired. If there is a disruption in billing for any reason, the services in your subscription and access to your Chalk Site will be suspended. If this occurs, you can update your card by logging in to your account. Prolonged non-payment will constitute grounds for deactivation at the close of a quarter, even if quarterly PV requirements have been met.


Is there training on how to use my Designer Office?
Yes. When you log in to your Designer Office, click on the tab called “Company News” and go to the “Welcome!” news item. Here you will find some training on your Designer Office. We know training is important to you and we’re eager to provide more and continue to

evolve the services and features of your subscription. Stay tuned as we develop and launch additional resources.

Are there any other monthly fees I incur as a Designer with Chalk Couture?
No.

THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AND THEIR ANSWERS ARE APPLICABLE ONLY TO DESIGNERS WHO LIVE IN CANADA, INDIANA, MINNESOTA, HAWAII, MARYLAND, AND NORTH DAKOTA. 

Is the Designer subscription required for all Designers?
No. To be compliant with business laws in specific areas, Canadian Designers, and US Designers living in Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota may opt out of the Designer subscription if they so choose. Those who opt out are considered Designers in good standing, but do not have full access to their Designer Office, a Chalk Site, the Chalk Shop by Square App, and do not receive the monthly Club Couture Transfer mailed free. They may also not participate in the Add-In program for Club Couture or any other marketing promotion that uses the Add-In program.

Designers who have opted out of their Designer subscription and its accompanying benefits may still order products at 40% off (Designer Pricing) and sponsor Team members, using the modified procedures as outlined in additional questions below. 

All Designers receive the benefits of Designer subscription free for their first month after enrollment, including Designers in Canada, Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota. Designers in Canada must actively agree to the subscription during their free trial month in order for the benefits to continue. Designers in Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota are opted into the program unless they dictate otherwise.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, what services and benefits will I be giving up?
The benefits of your Designer subscription include full access to the Designer Office, your Chalk Site for 24/7 online sales, Chalk Shop by Square App integration, access to the Add-In program, having the monthly Club Couture Transfer automatically mailed to your home, and so much more.

If you wish to opt out rather than be billed the subscription fee you will remain a Designer in good standing, and will be able to purchase products at Designer Pricing, sponsor, and earn commissions, but without the support of and access to all the resources provided with the Designer subscription.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, how will my Designer Office functions be limited?
Non-subscribed Designers have access to the following functions in their Designer Office:

  • Commissions (commissions and volumes only)
  • Store
  • Order History 
  • Abbreviated Resources Library 
  • Canada License Links
  • Account Settings
  • View Profile (General)

Non-subscribed Designers do not have access to reporting functions, including Designer Début progress, Designer Dollar accumulation, and all Team reports. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, how will I place orders? Will I be able to order products for both inventory and personal use?
Non-subscribed Designers are able to place orders for personal use or inventory via their Designer Office. Click “Store” then “Products” to process an order.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I be allowed to sell products from my personal inventory?
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers can purchase products as personal inventory and sell them via all approved methods. Any inventory purchased while you are not subscribed will not be automatically integrated into the Chalk Shop by Square app.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I still earn Designer Dollars per the Chalk Couture compensation plan?
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers still earn Designer Dollars as outlined in the compensation plan and can apply them towards any Designer Office order as usual. You will need to manually track your Designer Dollar accruals and expiration dates as that level of reporting is only available to subscribed Designers.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I still earn Team commissions as outlined in the Chalk Couture compensation plan?
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers are eligible for all commissions.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, can I still participate in Designer Début?
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers can participate in the Designer Début program. (Canadian law deems Canadian Designers ineligible for the sponsoring benefits available through the program.) You will need to manually track your Designer Début progress deadlines as that level of reporting is only available to subscribed Designers. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, will I still be eligible to participate in marketing promotions and incentives?
While we anticipate that non-subscribed Designers will be able to enjoy the majority of promotions and incentives, participation will vary by promotion. For example, promotions that rely on fulfillment via the Add-In program, or requires that customers place orders on Chalk Sites would not be applicable as non-subscribed Designers do not have an active Chalk Site and do not participate in the Add-In program. For questions regarding specific promotions, please view the FAQ relating to that promotion.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I retain my Team?
Yes. If you wish to opt out rather than be billed the subscription fee you will remain a Designer in good standing and will retain your Team. Non-subscribed Designers’ limited access to Designer Office would impact their access to reports and visibility of their Team performance. We strongly suggest that if you have a Team, you participate in the Designer subscription program so that you may properly support your downline. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program, how will I sponsor new Team members?
Designers who do not take advantage of Designer subscription benefits do not have an active Chalk Site, and therefore must sponsor Team members with the help of Designer Services. If you are a non-subscribed Designer and would like to sponsor someone new, please direct them to call Designer Services to manually process their application. If you are a non-subscribed Designer and would like to sponsor a new Team member please have them contact Designer Services (844.673.6316). Your new Team member will need your name and Designer ID in order to enroll under you.


If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I retain my Club Couture customers?
Yes. If you wish to opt out rather than be billed the subscription fee you will retain your Club Couture customers. However, non-subscribed Designers do not have an active Chalk Site and therefore Club members will not be able to purchase online through that Chalk Site or take advantage of Club Couture promotions with their Designer. Club Couture customers will need to place online orders through a subscribed Designer’s Chalk Site. Additionally, non-subscribed Designers’ limited access to Designer Office would impact their ability to view Club Couture subscriber information. We strongly suggest that if you have an active Club Couture program, you continue to participate in the Designer subscription program so that you can properly support your customers. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer Subscription program, how will I sponsor new Club Couture members?
Designers who do not take advantage of Designer subscription benefits do not have an active Chalk Site, and therefore must sponsor new Club Couture members with the help of Designer Services. If you are a non-subscribed Designer and would like to sponsor a new Club Couture member please contact Designer Services (844.673.6316). Your new Club Couture member will need your name and Designer ID in order to enroll under you. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I still have access to Designer Studio and any other Chalk Couture closed Facebook groups I qualify to participate in?
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers have access to all applicable groups managed by Chalk Central.

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I still receive email communications from Chalk Central.
Yes. Non-subscribed Designers still receive all email communication, the Weekly Designer Update, the Bonjour welcome series, etc. 

If I choose not to participate in the Designer subscription program will I still have access to the most recent Product List?
Yes. The Product List is accessible for non-subscribed Designers in the limited Resources Library in their Designer Office. 

How do I notify Chalk Central if I’d like to opt in or opt out of my Designer subscription?
All newly enrolled Designers in Canada, Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota will receive communications with information about the subscription program and instructions for how to opt in or opt out when they log in to their Designer Office. If they opt in, their account will be charged $19.99 USD/CAD and their subscription benefits will continue. 

If Canadian Designers do not opt in by the end of their free month, or elect to opt out earlier, their account will not be charged the subscription fee for the following month and they will lose access to all Designer subscription benefits.

Designers in Indiana, Minnesota, Hawaii, Maryland, and North Dakota are assumed opted in and must opt (if they so chose) out by contacting the Compliance team in Designer Services.

Current Designers, who are not new to Chalk Couture, can opt in to the program by navigating to "Change Settings" in the Designer Office. Designers who desire to opt out should contact Designer Services. 

Can I opt in or opt out of the Designer subscription at any time?
Yes, however changing your subscription status regularly is not recommended. 

If you are unsubscribed and choose to opt in, your $19.99 USD/CAD subscription fee will be billed immediately (unless you opt in during your first free month). Subscription benefits will begin immediately and will continue throughout the remainder of a billing cycle even if you choose to opt out before the next subscription fee is due. Depending on the date opt-in requests are submitted, that month’s Club Couture sample Transfers may be delayed or forfeited entirely. Designers can opt in by navigating to "Change Settings" in the Designer Office.

If you are subscribed and choose to opt out, your subscription benefits will continue throughout the remainder of the current billing cycle, but will be discontinued at 11:59 pm MT the evening before your subscription fee would have been regularly charged. Your account will not be charged the subscription fee on the next bill date, or on any subsequent date, until you opt back into the program. To opt out contact the Compliance team at 844.673.6316.
