Trip earning period: January 1, 2022–October 31, 2022
The top 100 Designers who earn at least 24,000 points (AND have a minimum of 7,000PSV during this 10-month period will qualify for the trip).
- 24,000 points = 1 airfare
- 32,000 points = 2 airfare
How to Qualify
You are qualified based on your overall points accumulated through Personal Volume (PV) and Sponsoring, plus meeting a minimum threshold of Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV).
- 1PV = 1 point
- Sponsoring: Sponsoring one first-time Designer = 300 points
- These points are pending through the earning period. The new Designer cannot be a re-enrollment, must join between January 1, 2022, and October 31, 2022, and must remit a minimum of 300PV during the earning period. The new Designer must also be active through October 31, 2022, with their account in good standing.
- Title Promotion and Paid-As Title
- Points are awarded for first-time title promotion as noted in the table below. Additionally, points are also awarded each month a Designer achieves a “paid-as” title as noted.
- Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV)
- Personally Sponsored Volume is the Personal Volume (PV) of the first-level Team members a Designer sponsors during the qualifying period of the program.
- Qualifying Designers must achieve a minimum of 7,000PSV, with a maximum of 2,000PSV from any single Designer you sponsor during the qualification period.
- Although there are no points generated by PSV, it is a requirement to earn the incentive trip. This requirement emphasizes the importance of sponsoring and supporting your Level 1 Designers as they learn to sell. PSV remains, even if the L1 Designer terminates during the program (in that event, the 300 points for sponsoring will be deducted, but any PSV generated from the L1 Designer will remain). Additionally, although a re-enrolled Designer may not generate sponsoring points, that re-enrolled Designer will generate PSV for the sponsoring Designer.

What are the trip dates?
February 17–23, 2023
What is included in the Dominican Republic incentive?
Earners will enjoy 6 nights in the resort at double occupancy (including taxes and fees), and 1 to 2 airfares, depending on total points earned (see aforementioned guidelines).
Earners will also be treated to a welcome reception, a kick-off business meeting/gameshow, and nightly pillow gifts. There will also be trip extras and add-on excursions (at additional cost), organized by Chalk Couture. One of the trip extras will be the option to purchase a trip shirt branded with the event logo. Earners are encouraged to participate in extras and excursions for extra fun and time with other Designers!
What is NOT included in the incentive trip?
Though the resort experience is called “all-inclusive,” earners should prepare and budget for expenses including passports and documentation, travel insurance, additional excursions and activities on site, items of a personal nature (such as souvenirs), tips for services rendered, and any meals, snacks, and beverages enjoyed off property. Any emergency or medical expenses arising during the event are at the earner’s expense, and neither Chalk Couture nor our travel partner provides coverage for any cost not explicitly named within this FAQ or other official Chalk Couture communications. If you elect to purchase the travel insurance from our travel agent partner, please read all details carefully prior to purchase to understand what coverages are included and excluded.
Earned airfare is at the discretion of Chalk Couture and its travel partners. Earned flights must be booked by Chalk Couture’s travel partner, who will seek out the lowest cost and most time-appropriate schedules and providers to suit the needs of the individual travelers and the overall group and program timing. Designers are welcome to suggest carrier preferences and provide frequent flyer information to the travel agent who will endeavor to accommodate preferences, although these CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
Those who earn airfare but choose to travel to the destination on their own may do so at their own expense. Chalk Couture does not provide reimbursement, stipends, cash, or credit to offset Designer travel, including mileage, frequent flyer credits/exchanges, or parking fees.
Tickets may not be upgraded for premium seating; earned airfare has no cash value. Earned airfare has a cap of $500 USD per earned ticket; any excess is the responsibility of the earner to pay in a timely manner to the agency prior to travel.
How can I earn this trip?
Earn at least 24,000 total points (for 1 airfare) or 32,000 total points (for 2 airfares), and at least 7,000PSV within the earning period as previously outlined, and be among the top 100 overall point earners.
If I earn the trip, can I bring my family? Additional guests?
Yes, if resort space and requirements permit; there is no guarantee of additional occupancy, and additional costs will apply. After the conclusion of the program earning period, earners will be asked to RSVP and provide information about their intent to bring additional guests. Pending availability, the resort will work to accommodate additional traveler requests. Note that additional guest costs for hotel accommodations and all-inclusive amenities are expected, and will be borne by the earner and are not guaranteed to be available. Earners are welcome to book travel and off-property excursions independently for additional guests.
Earners’ program rewards include a double-occupancy guarantee only, and the room class on our contract is for the same. We cannot guarantee room location within the property. Therefore, to add other guests may require that an earner secure a room outside of our contracted room block, which may incur fees above rates shown on vacation websites. Any additions to occupancy will be at the earner’s cost, which may be above market rate (or rates shown on discount websites). You may be required to add additional rooms at your own cost and availability (the additional rooms may or may not be in the same area as the Chalk Couture room block contract; you may not change your room assignment). If you would like to bring additional guests, please talk to the hotel to make arrangements.
How many Designers will earn this trip?
Up to 100 qualifiers will earn this trip. The chance to earn this trip is open to all Chalk Couture Designers, and will be reached by many of your friends and fellow Designers.
Who is eligible to earn this incentive trip?
All active Designers are eligible to participate in earning a spot on this incentive program. You must be an active Designer to qualify and an active Designer at the time of the trip to attend. To be considered active, the Designer’s account must be in good standing (not paused or suspended for any reason), and there must not be any disciplinary action in progress. Earners who have exited their Designerships after earning this trip will not be eligible to participate, nor are they eligible for any prizes/gifts associated with the trip. The trip has no cash value.
Guests of earners may not be current Designers or Designers who have exited the company within 12 months of the trip dates.
Can a new Designer earn the trip?
Yes! As long as the new Designer is active and has earned the minimum required points and requirements to achieve the incentive trip, the Designer has the potential to earn the trip, even if they join Chalk Couture after the program’s start date.
How is Personally Sponsored Volume (PSV) measured for this trip?
PSV is the Personal Volume generated by Designers you personally sponsor during the qualification period. Qualifying trip earners must have a minimum of 7,000PSV, with a maximum of 2,000PSV from any single Designer; this means you will need at least FOUR personally sponsored new Designers during the earning period, and likely more—the more you sponsor, the easier it is to achieve 7,000PSV. Too, the earlier you sponsor during the program, the more time your Level 1 Team members will have to contribute to your PSV requirement.
Think of PSV as a bucket, which all your new L1 Team members contribute to (L1 Team members who join your team during the qualification period). Perhaps you enroll 7 Designers, who are strong sellers who contribute 1,000PV each during the entire program—that meets the required 7,000PSV threshold easily. Or, you enroll 14 Designers who are more casual participants of Chalk Couture and individually achieve 500PV during the program. This meets 7,000 TOTAL PSV, so the requirement is met. The more Designers you enroll during the program, the easier it is to achieve the 7,000PSV requirement. The maximum PSV that a single L1 Designer may contribute to your 7,000PSV threshold is 2,000.
Note that while a new enrollee must remit 300PV before you receive 300 sponsoring points for the trip, EVERY 1PV they remit counts toward your 7,000PSV minimum—even before that Designer achieves 300PV, and even if that Designer is at “former” status at the end of the earning period. In other words, PSV is never “pending” like sponsoring points are. Once earned, they count toward your threshold. And yes! This means that when you have a new L1 Designer join the company and remit 300PV, YOU’LL EARN 300 trip points for sponsoring AND you’ll receive 300PSV credit toward your 7,000PSV minimum—it’s a double benefit! If the L1 Designer terminates during the program, the 300 points for sponsoring will be deducted, but any PSV generated will remain.
PSV is a required minimum threshold for earning, but does not carry actual trip points.
How can I track PSV?
In your Incentive Trip Tracker, you have two tabs: one for PV and one for sponsoring. Click on the “Sponsoring” tab, and you’ll see a list of all your personally sponsored Team members during the program, including their own PV. You can track it here by person and/or on the dashboard of your Incentive Trip Tracker, where the total PSV is shown. The Trip Tracker is in your Designer Office from February 10, 2022 through completion of the earning period.
How can I track my points during the earning period?
You may track your trip points using the Incentive Trip Tracker report in your Designer Office from February 10, 2022 through the end of the earning period. This report includes a tab for PV, a tab for sponsoring, and a dashboard showing your point totals for PV, sponsoring, and PSV. The tracker also helps you identify whether you have an L1 Designer who is at risk of not meeting the quarterly PV requirements.
If I sponsor someone who was previously a Designer, do I still get points toward sponsoring?
No, sponsoring points are only awarded the first time a Designer joins Chalk Couture. However, a re-enrolling Designer may contribute to your 7,000PSV threshold.
When is the earning qualification period?
Earn trip qualification points between January 1, 2022, and October 31, 2022 (at 11:59 pm MT). The deadline to earn PV and PSV is October 31, 2022 (at 11:59 pm MT). The qualification deadline for sponsoring is also October 31, 2022, and your personally sponsored Designer must earn at least 300PV and be considered an active Designer by October 31, 2022, (at 11:59 pm MT) for them to count toward your qualification point totals, with their account in good standing (account may not be paused or suspended for any reason). Qualification totals are finalized when commissions are totaled, and they are subject to change until that time. Points for title promotion and paid-as title may be earned for the months of January 2022 through October 2022.
To earn and/or retain the 300 sponsoring points per Sponsored Team member recruited during the qualification period, that new Team member must be active through October 31, 2022, and in good standing. Sponsoring points are thus “pending” until the conclusion of the trip-earning period.
If I achieve a title and lose it, does that affect my earned points for the trip?
Each month you will earn points according to the paid-as title you achieve—even if your title goes up or down—in addition to bonus points in the months you earn a never-before-reached title. For specifics, refer to the aforementioned title details.
What are the requirements to ensure I receive points for a new personally sponsored Designer during the program?
To qualify to receive the 300 sponsoring points for a new personally sponsored Designer, the Designer you sponsor must meet the following criteria:
- Join the company during the incentive trip qualification period (January 1, 2022–October 31, 2022).
- Be a first-time Designer, not a re-enrollment. Every Designer generates sponsoring points only once per lifetime, regardless of which trip program is active when the Designer joins.
- Remit a minimum of 300PV to hit qualified status.
- Achieve a minimum of 100PV for every full quarter they are a Designer, so they remain active.
For example, if a Designer joins in February 2022, and places 300PV in March, they remain active and retain Designer status into the second quarter. This Designer must place a minimum of 100PV between April 1 and June 30 and July 1 and September 30, or the Designer will not be active at the close of the earning period, therefore they will not generate 300 trip points for their Sponsor because they have failed to meet the requirements for activity in both quarters.
All PV the new Designer remits during the program will count toward the PSV required threshold, regardless of whether the Designer achieves 300PV or stays active during the earning period.
Can qualification points be transferred from one Designer to another?
No. Qualification points are non-transferrable.
If I have a Designer roll up to me, will they count as a new personally sponsored Designer?
If I have a Designer roll up to me, will their PV count towards the PSV requirement?
When will the final achievers be announced?
Trip earners will be announced after the commissions for October 2022 are finalized. They will be announced in November 2022, as part of Magnifique Mag.
What if I earn the trip but do not attend? Is there a cash-out option?
There is no cash-out option and the trip has no cash value.
What if a Designer who earns the trip is unable to go?
If one of the top 100 Designers who earns the trip is unable to attend, the Designer with the next highest points earned (as long as that Designer meets all requirements as well) is invited to attend based on when the previously qualified Designer exits. If an earning Designer cancels, no additional Designers may be added to the trip less than 60 days before the date of departure due to contract limitations and booking. Note that if an earner does not attend after booking travel and/or accommodations, and if these costs are not refundable, they will be included on the earner’s 2023 year-end tax statement provided by Chalk Couture. If an earner RSVPs “yes” but then cancels for any reason thereafter, they are subject to a $500 USD cancellation fee.
What if I cancel the trip after travel arrangements and accommodations have been booked? Will I get a refund on my trip “add-ons”?
If an earner cancels and has purchased trip extras (including “trip” shirts, Chalk Couture sponsored group excursions, etc.), these will not be refunded if canceled after the order cut-off date. If canceled before the order deadline, these costs will be refunded. If an earner RSVPs “yes” for the trip and later cancels for any reason, they will be assessed a $500 USD cancellation fee. Earners who do not attend may receive earner gifts, specifically on-site “pillow gifts” provided after the conclusion of the trip.
Are there fees for cancellations?
There is a $500 USD fee if a Designer commits to coming and then later cancels. Chalk Couture incurs real costs on behalf of trip earners, whether in flights, hotel, or agency fees, and often these fees cannot be recouped when a Designer does not attend. Too, if on this or a future incentive program, we have more earners than contracted spots, you may literally displace a qualified earner by saying "yes" but then not attending. If you qualify to attend, we ask that you thoughtfully consider your RSVP and say "yes" because you are committed to attending. The cancellation fee for the Dominican Republic program is $500 USD, exclusive of any other non-refundable expenses incurred on your behalf (which are included in your annual 1099 earnings). We want you—and every earner—to enjoy and love this great experience!
What is the value of this trip?
The full value of the trip is not available/finalized until closer to the travel date. However, trip earners will see the full value of their earned trip as taxable income on their 2023 tax statements provided by Chalk Couture. The trip has no cash value/cash-out value, and earning Designers who RSVP “yes” but do not attend will still receive the value of the trip on their tax documents if tickets/reservations are purchased/made in their name, which are not cancellable.
What is the value of airfare earned?
One airfare may not exceed $500 USD and two airfares may not exceed $1,000 USD. In the event that airfare for an earner exceeds that cap, the difference is the responsibility of the Designer. If airfare is less than the $500 USD cap per ticket, the difference has no cash value to the earner.
Do I need a passport?
Yes! Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, is an international travel location for residents of the United States and Canada. A valid passport will be required for airline travel and entry into the country.
Can my guest be another Designer?
No, your guest cannot be another Designer who did not earn the trip. If the guest is a former Designer, they must have been at “former” status for a minimum of 12 months as of the trip’s date in order to be eligible to attend as your guest.
Will there be additional activities on the trip?
Yes! We’re planning several activities to do together, including our welcome reception where you can meet and mingle with other Designers and their guests, our fun “business class,” and an excursion or two. More details will be provided as the trip date approaches.
Can I arrive before the designated travel date or stay longer? What if I need special travel arrangements?
Our travel partner will be happy to assist you in booking your pre- and post-getaway and/or flight deviations. Note that any additional nights at the resort or flight deviation will be incurred at the Designer’s expense, including any deviations from the airfare caps or costs that arise from date deviations or additional legs.
