Social media can be a great support for building your Designership. Whether you plan to share and sell at workshops, events, at pop-up shops, or use a little of everything, a strong presence on Facebook will give your customers a quick and easy place to learn more about you and Chalk Couture™.
To maximize your work on Facebook, create two additional sites in addition
to your personal profile: a business page and a VIP group.
THINGS TO NOTE
- Other than a couple of fun posts and photos of projects and the “lifestyle” side of Chalk Couture, all your official “business” activity should be done through your business page, not your personal profile.
- If you are offering a discount off the retail price of your products, adding a free item to a bundle, or any sort of product special or giveaway, those sales must take place in your VIP Group.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE THREE SITES?
Personal page is just that. It’s meant to be personal ways to connect with family, friends, and communities for personal purposes. This is where you post about your daily life, share vacation photos, and videos of your pets and kids.
Business page is where you establish a social media presence for your Chalk Couture Designership. It’s designated specifically for businesses, companies, brands, and organizations, and have special features that let you connect with customers and share information about the business—like shopping links, product information, and events. These options aren’t available on your personal profile page.
VIP group is for small group communication and for people to share their common interests. Groups allow people to come together around a common cause or activity to get ideas and inspiration, post photos, and share related content. Your VIP group will be a special place where your customers can learn more about you and Chalk Couture, and where you can offer product promotions and special offers that are not available to the general public.
