What is ChalkCon?
ChalkCon is our biggest event of the year! Designers of all titles and activity levels are encouraged to attend this fun-filled convention full of inspiration, education, and celebration!
Where is ChalkCon 2025 being held?
Our live event will take place at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in Independence, Missouri (just outside fabulous Kansas City)!
When is ChalkCon 2025?
Main events for all attendees will take place on Thursday and Friday, June 26 and 27, 2025. Leader Premiere for Mentor+ will be held Thursday, June 26, from approximately 9 to 11 am. NOTE: Couturier Night (by invitation only) will be held Wednesday, June 25, beginning at approximately 7 pm.
For the most comfortable experience, we encourage all general attendees participating in ChalkCon events in person to arrive at the host hotel the morning of Thursday, June 26, for registration, which runs from 9 am - 1 pm. The opening general session will begin on Thursday at 1 pm. You don’t want to miss it!
How much is registration for ChalkCon and what’s included with my ticket?
ChalkCon In-Person Registration: $279 USD
- Registration will open Monday, March 31, and will close Friday, April 18, or when sold out. (Limited tickets available.)
Registration includes attendance at the must-do event of the season and so many fun things—it’s a value of over $375 USD for every attendee, even BEFORE individual prizes, awards, giveaways, and exclusive meals!
- In-person attendance at all live sessions and on-site activities: General Sessions, Studio Sessions, interactive Create & Take experience, Awards events, entry to the Progressive Art Gallery, Swag Store shopping, participation in product brainstorm sessions, and photo op.
- Event swag! (Registration bag, notebook, pen, lanyard, name badge, and ribbons earned)
- Eligibility to pre-order swag add-ons, including exclusive Chalk merch, Team gifts, and access to a wonderful array of branded goodies and Chalk products at the Swag Store onsite. Swag item options, descriptions, and information about how to place an order coming soon.
- Interactive Create & Take experience featuring new products.
- Studio Session class kits for in-person creative training featuring new products from the Autumn 2025 Collection.
- Exclusive event Transfers.
- Exclusive Leader Premiere Transfer (Mentor+ only).
- Eligibility for live prizes and giveaways throughout the event.
- Eligibility for awards recognition at the Awards Dinner and closing celebration.

When will registration open for ChalkCon?
Registration will open Monday, March 31, and will close Friday, April 18, or when sold out. (Limited tickets available.)

What should I know about the venue?
It’s within walking distance to Hobby Lobby, and that’s just the beginning!
Nestled within the Falls of Crackerneck Creek in Independence, Missouri, Stoney Creek offers gorgeous access to nature, including a waterfall and backyard lake, and amazing access to sporting events, shopping in the Plaza, and a fun night out at the Power & Light District. Access all that Kansas City has to offer and experience world-famous barbeque and world-class arts and entertainment. The hotel’s modern lodge decor and genuine hospitality create a true home away from home experience that will leave you feeling as if you are right at home.

What is the cost of parking at the hotel and or conference center?
Parking is free for all attendees.
How do I book my hotel room?
Our room block with the host hotel is currently full. You can reach out to events@chalkcouture.com to be placed on a waiting list should something become available or book alternate accommodations.
Is Chalk Couture offering any alternate accommodations?
Yes. We have an alternate room block set up with Hilton Garden Inn (19677 East Jackson Drive, Independence, MO 64057). Rooms are available for $149/night and include a hot breakfast buffet for two. Space is limited.
Reservations can be made on an individual basis here or by
calling 1-877-782-9444 and asking for the Chalk Couture Overflow group block.
Will transportation be provided to and from the alternate accommodation?
No.
I’m staying at the host hotel. What amenities are included?

Who can attend ChalkCon?
ChalkCon is open to all Designers. Tickets include event and activity access for one person per registration. Designers who qualify for Personal Performance Awards may invite one guest (Designer with paid event registration, non-Designer friend, or non-Designer family member), to attend the Awards Gala and closing party at no additional cost.
What information should I be prepared to provide when I register for the event?
To access the registration form, you will need your Designer ID and sign-in credentials. You will need your name, preferred badge name if different, contact information, and credit card number. Make sure to note dietary preferences or mobility/vision/hearing support needs.
What if I registered for the event and can’t go? Can I get a refund?
In-Person ticket refunds are only offered through the registration close date of Friday, April 18. Refunds are provided, less an $80 USD processing fee. After April 18, no refunds are possible.
If I registered for the In-Person ticket but am unable to attend, will I get the registration materials, Studio Session materials, Create & Take products and supplies, or giveaways sent to me?
You will receive any purchased swag (shipping fees apply), but non-attendees will not receive registration materials, session materials, or C&T, nor will they be eligible for giveaways.
If you cancel prior to May 30 and notify Chalk Central that you are not attending, your purchased swag items will be shipped to you between July 11 and July 22.
If you do NOT notify Chalk Central prior to May 30 that you are not attending, your swag will be shipped to the event. The items will then be returned to Utah, unloaded, and sorted before they can be shipped to you. This process will take several weeks after ChalkCon.
Will meals be provided?
All attendees will be provided lunch on Friday and enjoy a dessert buffet and 2 drink tickets during the closing event Friday evening.
Those eligible to attend Couturier Night will receive dinner on Wednesday evening (June 25). The Master Mentor Celebration will include desserts & sodas. New this year, Designers earning Personal Performance awards (plus 1 guest) will enjoy a private dinner on Friday.
What dining options are available at the hotel/conference center for attendees?
A hot breakfast for registered guests is included daily. The hotel is also home to McCoy’s Whiskey and Wine Bar, a beautifully appointed, lodge-style bar featuring a fireplace, high-top tables, and TVs. Opened every evening at 4, McCoy’s offers cocktails, wines, local beers, and a delicious selection of casual fare.
I have special dietary needs. Will the provided meals accommodate me?
You will be asked to identify a meal preference of vegetarian and/or gluten free at registration. However, this is only for hotel planning purposes and does NOT guarantee you this type of meal (the hotel will not know your name or have a meal set aside for you). The lunch will include vegetarian/gluten-free options you can choose from, and you may request a vegetarian/gluten-free meal selection from your server at the Awards Gala dinner. No other special requests can be accommodated, so if you have allergies or other dietary restrictions and needs, please prepare accordingly.
What is the dress code for ChalkCon?
ChalkCon dress can be as casual as jeans, or as dressy as you deem fit! It’s all about flair, comfort, and fun! Even though it’s summer and will be HOT outside, ballrooms and meeting rooms can be chilly—dress in layers, and keep a light sweater or jacket on hand just in case!
What are Color Days?
Color Days are part of the fun of ChalkCon! We select a palette of colors with a single color “emphasis” per day for everyone to wear. You can wear any shade of the color indicated and can dress from head to toe, or add just a “pop.” It’s a small and simple way to celebrate Chalk style (and also makes for pretty fabulous photos)!
Here are the Color Day assignments:
- Wednesday (Couturier Night) = Nominee
- Thursday = Couture Teal
- Friday = Candy Apple
- Friday Awards Dinner/Crowns & Cocktails Closing Party = Shades of pink & red are encouraged. This event will be heavily themed, and oh so fun, so by all means wear your crown! Literally. Bring a crown or tiara and don’t forget your Royal Sash for the patch parade!
Do I need to bring any supplies to ChalkCon?
All supplies for the Create & Take experience and hands-on Studio Sessions are provided. Hands-on Studio Sessions are new this year, and could be the highlight of the entire event! If you wish to bring an apron to cover your clothing, and/or additional craft supplies for added flair please do!
Also, please bring an inexpensive blank apparel item or textile (shoes, hats, coozie, cosmetics bag, tote, towel, etc.) for our Interactive Create & Take on Thursday. You’ll thank us. Promise.
What and when is Couturier Night?
Couturier Night is a celebration of achievement for Couturiers, Executive Couturiers, and Master Couturiers. This year’s event begins at 7 pm and concludes at approximately 9 pm on Wednesday, June 25. Eligible Designers will be sent an invitation with information on the venue, transportation, etc. Dress for this year’s event is casual, but don’t forget the Color Day assignment for Wednesday is Nominee.
To be eligible to attend Couturier Night, a Designer must be at the recognition title of Couturier as of June 1, 2025. This means existing Couturiers are required to have achieved paid-as title at least one time as of January, February, March, April, or May. If a first-time Couturier achieves the title between January and as late as June, they are also eligible to attend. We will accelerate the audit of a newly promoted-in-June Couturier to be eligible for Couturier Night, but this is only for new Couturiers. Existing Couturiers are required to hit paid-as at least one time between January and May.
Can I purchase additional drink tickets for the Closing Party?
Bar service is provided before the party on Friday evening for all attendees. Attendees receive 2 complimentary drink tickets. Additional drinks can be purchased individually at the bar (typically $12–14 each).
PRODUCT PLAYGROUND & CHALK TANK PITCH SESSION New for 2025!
New this year, attending Designers will have the opportunity to provide insight and direction into the development of future product lines, brand collaborations, Transfer aesthetics, and more!
How will I participate?
So many ways!
- The Playground will include a pre-event virtual element where Designers will be encouraged to share photos representing potential line extensions, surface concepts, etc. Instructions and links to contribute to shared albums will be provided once the event registration is closed.
- At ChalkCon, Designers whose ideas are selected via virtual votes will have the opportunity to “sell” their concepts in a "Chalk Tank" Pitch Session live from the main stage! Attendees will vote on their favorite finalist concepts in real time. Specific details and pitch instructions coming soon.
- Attendees with great suggestions for winning Transfer designs are encouraged to bring their ideas for a real-time, real-life Product Playground display at the event. Printed photos, sheets torn from magazines, and handmade drawings are all welcome! Bring ALL your Transfer ideas, post them on the boards provided, and then vote for your favorites!
ART FEST
What is the ChalkCon Art Fest?
All attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite finished Chalk project for display in our first-ever Art Fest! All projects will be accepted, regardless of category, size, or scale, and will be accessible for inspiration and celebration throughout the event. Designers submitting entries will receive an exclusive event ribbon for their lanyard display!
For fun (and bragging rights) “top entries” will be selected by a panel of judges from Chalk Central. Attendees will vote on their favorites and we’ll reveal the Top 3 Picks at Crowns & Cocktails on Friday!
What rules do I need to know about my submission?
- One entry maximum per Designer.
- Entries may not include more than three unique components. Please do not submit complex vignettes.
- Entries may not include “staging” or props, and cannot have electrical or water requirements.
- Artwork must be transportable. All entries must be physically present at ChalkCon. Designers are responsible to pick up their projects at the close of the event.
How are finalists chosen?
Finalists will be chosen from all entries for a popular vote at ChalkCon. All Designers attending ChalkCon will be provided a ballot to vote for 1 entry. Top 3 Picks will be recognized at our closing celebration.
What prizes are available?
All Designers submitting entries will receive an exclusive event ribbon for their lanyard display. Top Picks will win product prize packs featuring Autumn 2025 Transfers and will be celebrated on stage at ChalkCon.
AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS
What kinds of achievements are recognized at ChalkCon Awards Events?
New for 2025, event-year recognition will be celebrated in multiple events. The Personal Performance Awards Dinner will highlight top event-year personal achievements in sales and sponsoring. Team awards and nominated awards categories will be highlighted at our Crowns & Cocktails - A Pink Party by Chalk Couture closing celebration. Additionally, title-based achievements, Watts of Love top performance, Savvy Sellers, and milestones earnings will be recognized at various times throughout the event.
Who is invited to attend the Personal Performance Awards Dinner?
All registered Designers who are earning awards in Personal Performance Categories and one guest are invited to attend. Guests may include another Designer with paid event registration, a non-Designer friend, or non-Designer family member.

Who is invited to attend the Team Performance celebration Crowns & Cocktails - A Pink Party by Chalk Couture?
Everyone! All registered Designers and non-Designer guests of Personal Performance awards are encouraged to attend. This year’s party theme is Crowns & Cocktails - A Pink Party by Chalk Couture so wear your crowns, tiaras and shades of pink. Don’t forget your Royal Sash for the Had Me In Stitches Patch Parade! The event includes a warm-up social hour with bar service, where you can use your drink tickets, and a themed-out dessert buffet. Come to celebrate success with your teammates and friends!
What is the Luminary Leader award?
The Luminary Leader award winner is selected based on extraordinary positivity, heart, leadership, vision, and character that is evident to customers, Team members, and Chalk Central, particularly in their interactions with Designer Services. This individual demonstrates persistence with a smile, and radiates a light worthy of being called “luminary.”
- Nominated by fellow Designers.
- One award presented.
- Winner must be registered and present at ChalkCon.
- Winner must be a leader, recommended at Master Mentor or above.
- Winner receives a $3,000 USD cash prize.
What is the Start the Spark award?
The Start the Spark Award is given to “firestarters” who glow and go within the first 2 years of their Designership—starting strong with recruiting, Personal Volume, and positive activity in the community. Winners are selected not only for business performance, but also for their support of others, their genuineness, and their excellence in being a brand ambassador of Chalk Couture values.
- Nominated by fellow Designers.
- Up to three awards presented.
- Winners must be registered and present at ChalkCon.
- Start the Spark nominees/winners must have enrolled as Designers no earlier than June 1, 2023. This award recognizes standout growth within a Designer’s first 2 years.
- Winners receive a $500 USD cash prize.
How do I nominate someone for an award?
You may nominate one or more Designers for Start the Spark and Luminary Leader awards, regardless of whether you register for ChalkCon. Complete the nomination form here to nominate your fellow worthy Designers. Nomination deadline is May 2, 2025.
If I’m winning an award will I know beforehand?
Yes! Designers winning a Personal Performance award will receive an invitation to the Awards Dinner via email in the weeks leading up to ChalkCon. Designers winning a Personal Performance award and those representing Teams in our Team Performance celebration will receive an “award recipient” ribbon with their registration materials.
SWAG
What swag items are available for ChalkCon 2025?
Size-specific swag items are now available for pre-order on the event registration site. If you have already completed registration, you can log in to your registration account to edit your registration and add your swag items. If you have any problems, please reach out to events@chalkcouture.com for assistance. Orders for the ChalkCon event T-Shirt and hoodie must be placed by Friday, April 18, to ensure that you get one in the size that you want. We will have limited stock in select sizes at the store on-site at ChalkCon.
Additional swag items will be available for purchase during ChalkCon at the ChalkCon ’25 Swag Store.
All ChalkCon swag items are non-commissionable and will be available for online purchase, while supplies last. Swag items may only be purchased by those attending ChalkCon.
Where/When will I receive my swag items?
Attendees will pick up their swag orders at the event.
Will there be an onsite store at ChalkCon?
Yes! Plan to visit the Swag Store daily!
