This June, Chalk Couture is inviting you to step away from the everyday—and into a creative experience unlike anything we’ve hosted before.

Set inside the iconic Brown Hotel, Camp Chalk is a workshop-based creative escape designed purely for joy, connection, and making things with your hands and your heart.

Consider it Chalk Couture unplugged.

From a welcome party on Thursday night to a full day of hands-on creativity on Friday, you’ll spend time crafting with friends, laughing at shared tables, and immersing yourself in the art you love.

Will meals be provided?

To keep the cost of registration low, meals are not included. All attendees will enjoy appetizers or desserts and drinks (2 drink tickets per registration) during the closing soiree and Thursday’s welcome party if attending.

**Our Get Down @ The Brown event on Thursday is reserved for attendees staying in the Chalk Couture room block at the host hotel.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

How much is registration & what’s included with my ticket?

Camp Chalk Registration: $149 USD

Registration includes:

  • In-person attendance to three interactive workshop sessions (includes Transfers and surfaces to take home, plus access to Chalkology® Paste and Ink, Chalk tools, and necessary accessories)
  • Invitations to exclusive themed parties with appetizers, drinks and/or desserts*
  • Event swag! (Registration bag, lanyard, and name badge)
  • Exclusive event Transfer
  • Eligibility for attendee gifts and giveaways
  • Access to shop branded merch and Chalk products at the Swag Store onsite
  • Participation in Art Fest (Chalk-inspired project display and contest) 

When will registration open?

Registration will open Tuesday, March 17, and will close Tuesday, March 31, or when sold out. (Limited tickets available.)

Who can attend?

Camp Chalk is open to all Designers, but is limited to 100 attendees. We will institute a waitlist if registration reaches capacity and there is additional demand. 

Where do I register?

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is available only online via the designated website. Register here

What information should I be prepared to provide when I register for the event?

To access the registration form, you will need your Designer ID, preferred badge name if required, contact information, and credit card number. Make sure to note dietary preferences or mobility/vision/hearing support needs.

What’s the dress code?

We consider Camp Chalk a “get your hands dirty” event, so plan accordingly. Dress can be as casual as jeans for workshop events, with themed party attire as dressy as you deem fit (see recommendations below)! Even though it’s summer and will be HOT outside, ballrooms and meeting rooms can be chilly—dress in layers, and keep a light sweater or jacket on hand just in case!

Get Down @ The Brown Welcome Party*

To kick off our time together in true Louisville style, Get Down @ The Brown is inspired by the pageantry, color, and charm of the Kentucky Derby. 

Derby-inspired attire encouraged, including:

  • Flowy dresses, statement skirts, tailored separates, or elevated jumpsuits
  • Bright colors, florals, pastels, bold prints, or classic black-and-white

Fascinators highly encouraged!

Golden Hour Glow Closing Soiree

As we wind down Camp Chalk together, Golden Hour Glow is all about warmth, ease, and elevated creativity. This evening is relaxed, luminous, and designed for lingering conversations, golden light, and one last unforgettable moment together.

Golden Hour Glow is the softer sister to Derby night—less statement, more soul. Wear soft, glow-worthy neutrals and warm tones:

  • Creams, sand, linen, champagne, soft gold, blush, clay, olive, warm taupe
  • Subtle shimmer or metallic accents welcome (think glow, not sparkle)

What is the room rate?

Request the Chalk Couture room block to enjoy a negotiated double-occupancy rate of $158 USD per day.

What should I know about the venue?

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Brown Hotel's prime location offers easy access to many of Louisville’s most in-demand destinations, including the Brown Theatre, the Palace Theatre and the Kentucky International Convention Center. What is the cost of parking at the hotel?

$30 USD per day.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Do I need to bring any supplies?

All supplies for hands-on workshops are provided. If you wish to bring an apron to cover your clothing, and/or additional craft supplies for added flair, please do!

What if I registered for the event and can’t go? Can I get a refund?

In-Person ticket refunds are only offered through the registration close date of Tuesday, March 31. Refunds are provided, less an $80 USD processing fee. After March 31, no refunds are possible.

If I registered but am unable to attend, will I get the registration materials, workshop products and supplies, and giveaways sent to me?

Non-attendees will not receive registration or session materials. They will also be ineligible for giveaways.

I have special dietary needs. Can I expect accommodations?

Desserts and party foods will be served buffet style, and common allergens will be labeled. While efforts will be made to accommodate individual requirements, it will be at the attendee’s discretion to choose from buffet options accordingly.

ART FEST

What is Art Fest?

All attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite finished Chalk project for display in Art Fest! All projects will be accepted, regardless of category, size, or scale, and will be accessible for inspiration and celebration throughout the event. 

For fun (and bragging rights), “top entries” will be selected by a panel of judges. Attendees will vote on their favorites, and we’ll reveal the Top 3 Picks on Friday!

What rules do I need to know about my submission?

  • One entry maximum per Designer.
  • Entries may not include more than three unique components. Please do not submit complex vignettes.
  • Entries may not include “staging” or props, and cannot have electrical or water requirements.
  • Artwork must be transportable. All entries must be physically present at Camp Chalk. Designers are responsible for picking up their projects at the close of the event. 

What prizes are available?

Top Picks will win product prize packs featuring Chalk Couture Transfers and will be celebrated during the Camp Chalk closing party, Golden Hour Glow.
