Designer Marketing Guidelines Harry Potter™ & Warner Bros.™ Licensed Collections

Chalk Central marketing content (emails, photography, social posts, hashtag usage, website content, etc.) is pre-approved by Warner Bros. for use by the company and Chalk Couture Designers, who are considered Brand Ambassadors of the collaboration. Approved corporate marketing assets for Designer use are provided in the Resources Library (no alterations can be made). Designers are allowed to post their own photos and videos of finished projects utilizing Warner Bros. licensed products in live video demonstrations, according to the following guidelines. 

Designers may not use the licensed property (or any component thereof) on any business sign, business cards, stationery or forms, or as part of their brand/business name.

Designers may sell licensed inventory purchased in their Designer Back Office assuming they have unselected the “for personal use” designation at check out.

Social Posts, Photography, Video, & Live Selling 

Designers may not represent themselves as Chalk Couture employees or representatives of the corporate entity. Designers may not tag official Warner Bros. franchise accounts (e.g., @harrypotter, @wizardingworld, @dccomics, etc.) or imply a direct relationship with Warner Bros. or its brands in their personal marketing. Additionally, Designers may not attempt to engage WB social accounts for amplification.

  • Avoid character cosplay while selling. 
  • Do not recreate iconic film scenes or props. 
  • Keep styling inspired, subtle, and product-focused. 
  • Do not promote with other brands, IPs, or products.
  • Avoid using inappropriate language, including swear words, indecent or adult-only language, inappropriate portrayals of any element of the brand, and content that is discriminatory or promotes discrimination.

Promotional Pricing 

Blanket promotions from Chalk Couture will not include Warner Bros. collaboration products. Designers are required to sell Warner Bros. products at full retail value. They may not be included in Designer personal promotions, even in closed groups.

Enrollment Strategies

Designers are not allowed to use Warner Bros. properties and intellectual property for enrollment purposes.

  • Do not require follows, sign-ups, or subscriptions to win licensed items. 
  • Keep giveaways simple and compliant with Chalk Couture policies. 

Messaging

Protect the Magic 

  • Use official Chalk Couture product names and imagery. 
  • Represent products as officially licensed — not props from the films. 
  • Celebrate the fandom without extending the story world. 

Focus on the Product 

  • Highlight features, creativity, and crafting experience. 
  • Avoid retelling plots, writing new dialogue, or referencing spoilers. 
  • Never create fan fiction or new storylines. 

Do Not Speak as Characters 

  • Do not post in the voice of Harry, Hermione, Dumbledore, etc. 
  • Avoid implying characters endorse or are interacting with your promotion. 

Tone & Inclusivity 

  • Keep messaging celebratory, respectful, and inclusive. 
  • Use emojis sparingly and avoid double meanings. 

Sales of Coordinating Products

Designers may not create, manufacture, sell, or distribute any self-made coordinating products (including but not limited to laser-cut shapes and surfaces) that are intended to complement Warner Bros. licensed Chalk Couture Transfers. Only officially licensed Chalk Couture surfaces and accessories may be marketed or sold in connection with these products.
