Disney Licensed Collections Designer Guidelines

Sales of Disney-licensed Chalk Couture Products

Designers may sell licensed inventory purchased in their Designer Back Office, assuming they have unselected the “for personal use” designation at checkout, at full retail price.

Designers may not sell non-Disney products or services together with Disney Products under a “Disney” brand heading. Designers may “bundle” Disney-licensed items with other items so long as the bundle is not named or branded as “Disney”.

Promotional Pricing

Blanket promotions from Chalk Couture will not include Disney collaboration products. Designers are required to sell Disney products at full retail value. They may not be included in the Designer's personal promotions, even in closed groups.

Designers may not position Disney Products for sale on a “limited availability”, “last time available”, “two-for-the-price-of-one”, “free with purchase” basis, or by similar descriptions that may imply collectability or scarcity (except in cases of Disney-approved limited edition programs provided by Chalk Couture). In essence, Disney-licensed products may not be used as giveaways.

Designers may not publicize, sponsor, or administer a sweepstakes, contest, competition, promotion, or other similar offering that may or may not involve a winner or a prize and which involves, in whole or in part, a Disney Product or any Disney branding.

Sales of Coordinating Products

Designers may not create, manufacture, sell, or distribute any self-made coordinating products (including but not limited to laser-cut shapes and surfaces) that are intended to complement Disney-licensed Chalk Couture Transfers and/or Heat Transfers. Only officially licensed Chalk Couture surfaces and accessories may be marketed or sold in connection with these products. The reproduction of, or creating derivative works based on Disney Materials, is prohibited.

Disney-licensed Chalk Couture products may not be included in subscription products of any kind.

Marketing via Social Posts, Photography, Video, & Live Selling

Chalk Central marketing content (emails, photography, social posts, hashtag usage, website content, etc.) is pre-approved by Disney for use by the company and Chalk Couture Designers. Approved corporate marketing assets for Designer use are provided in the Resources Library. Do not make any alterations to these assets. Including but not limited to, commingling them in a format/asset created by a Designer. Designers may not use any Disney images or Disney property logos. IP names (such as Winnie the Pooh, Moana, Snow White, etc.) can not be added to Designer assets.  Designers are allowed to post their own photos and videos of finished projects utilizing Disney licensed products, and in live video demonstrations, according to the following guidelines.

Designers may not represent themselves as Chalk Couture employees or representatives of the corporate entity. Designers may not tag official Disney or Disney franchise accounts (e.g., @disney, @toystory, @disneyprincesses, etc.) or imply a direct relationship with Disney or its brands in their personal marketing. Additionally, Designers may not attempt to engage Disney and/or Disney affiliate social accounts for amplification.

  • Do not use merchandise associated with Disney or the parks (including Mickey Mouse ears, etc.) in promotion of our products.
  • Avoid character cosplay while selling.
  • Do not recreate iconic film scenes or props.
  • Keep styling inspired, subtle, and product-focused.
  • Do not promote with other brands, IPs, or products.

Designers may not use any Disney animation, moving image clip, trailer, video, or music (including lyrics and song titles), audio/visual work, or any non-character Disney talent name, voice, or likeness for marketing purposes. Likewise, they may not use, post, or upload any text, pictures, photographs, video, audio, artwork, icons, logos, film, or television clips, trailers, or any other content that contains or references Disney Materials.

Designers may not purport to speak, tweet, blog or otherwise communicate on behalf of or impersonate any character, employee, officer or director of Disney.

Designers may not commingle Disney characters and icons with non-Disney characters and icons.

Designers may not use Disney Materials as a sole means to drive traffic to any Media Platform other than chalkcouture.com or their individual Designer Chalk Site. This includes links to a Designer’s personal or business platforms on social media.

Designers may not use or register names relating to Disney Materials in Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), email addresses, social media accounts, etc. (e.g., www.yourcompanyname.com/disneyprincess).

Designers may not bid on or purchase keywords for paid search advertising that include or are based on the Disney Materials (e.g., Google AdWords, Promoted Videos, ads on Facebook or similar advertising products on social media websites or otherwise online).

Designers may not include Disney-licensed products in marketing materials, social media content, platforms, etc., that offer or link to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, pornographic or adult-themed material, gambling or drugs, or that otherwise impugn, detract from or disparage the goodwill of the Disney Materials.

Designers are allowed to post their own photos and videos of finished projects utilizing Disney licensed products, and in live video demonstrations, according to these guidelines.

Enrollment Strategies

Designers are not allowed to use Disney properties and intellectual property for enrollment purposes (except in cases of Disney-approved limited edition programs provided by Chalk Couture). Likewise, Designers may not advertise Designer or Perks Member Pricing in relation to purchasing Disney-licensed products at discounted prices.
